18k gold Georgian era (1714 to est. 1837) mourning ring. A beautiful handmade floral and filigreed setting with an enamel and gold face. The face of the ring measures approximately 14.3 mm wide by 13.25 mm and is emblazoned with the words "In Memory Of." At the center of the ring beneath a tiny glass locket is the hair of the deceased. Inside the ring’s band are the letters JSD, the initials of the departed. 

The ring weighs 3.3 grams; the enamel is intact and the ring is in overall good condition with  wear commensurate with 200 years of age. 

The ring has been electronically tested at 18k gold.
